11-24-23  I'm just posting this to try and save this blog from going to never never land.

Sherm is working on his new trailer that actually came with a motorcycle. This is Anders who is from Norway. He works at in the Epcot portion of Disney World in Orlando, but has taken a semi permanent position next to the best wi-fi signal here at the motel. That old guy next to Anders is my roommate, he is just a mongrel.

This evening we went to a nice restaurant, but it takes a while to get used to paying California prices! Everybody had to try this porch swing. I think Don (VSP) might just have his dinner brought out to him there.

We went for a nice 250 mile ride in the hills around Solvang today. Unfortunately, the very narrow winding roads didn't allow us to stop for too many photo opportunities.

I ate lunch at an artsy cafe just south of Big Sur and took a picture of my bike out of the window while I was waiting for my food. The other picture is one of Hearst Castle from where they sign you up to take the tours.

This is my sister Eldonna and her home along with her pets and farmyard friends. I must say those eggs did taste awful good. I'm not sure what I would have done if I couldn't have rested up at her place.

I took a few pics in Carmel. Such a beautiful place, and such a lot of money there.

When I'm riding my bike I prefer not to travel the interstates. However, when I am sick, and I'm trying to get somewhere in a hurry, I'm not picky. Just the same, every once in awhile something interesting shows it's face along the way. The 747 on the building is the beginning of a 500' waterslide at Evergreen Aviation's new water park next to their air museum that holds the Spruce Goose in McMinnville, OR. The extreme bus and the full miget racer were just cruising down the interstate. The MG and trailer were in Carmel, CA.
Sorry I haven't posted for a few days. I've been really sick with something wierd in my lungs, and have been having a hard time kicking it. I cancelled my Central Oregon portion of my trip because of it and just made my way to my sisters house in Granite Bay, CA where she graciously put me up for three days and nursed me along. I woke up feeling a little better this morning, so I traveled on down to Solvang and joined the other VROC rally I had scheduled. I have a weak wifi signal in this room, but will try an upload the few pics I have taken since I was last on.

I liked these flowers in his yard, but I forget what they are called. Mexican fire heads or something like that.

Eldo and Kristi have three cats with three distinct personalities. Two that tolerated me and one that didn't.

With neither of us feeling well, we didn't do too much , but were able to take a short ride down to cape Mear's. The lighthouse has been vandalized which is a real shame, but is has been replaced by a modern, but fugly one.

I rode to the coast to visit my son in Tillamook. He too has been fighting a cold so we probably gave each other a new strain. His wife Kristi is on the beginning stretch of 6, 12hour days so she is just working and sleeping.

I've been traveling these last few days with the beginnings of a cold. I sure hope I'm not spreading it to everyone I visit. In Portland, I was only able to see my stepdaughter and grandson. I really enjoyed our visit.

The first pic is the bridge over the Columbia River at Biggs Junction, OR. The second are windsurfers at Rowena the wind surfing capital of the world. The third is the Bridge of the Gods. The last is Multnomah Falls.
I visited Car Henge near the beginning of this trip, so I decided it appropriate to visit Stone Henge too! Had to fly the bike to England for this. Of course, the real one is probably in Scotland, or somewhere.
When I got to Goldendale, I was really surprised with the large number of wind generators they have installed since the last time I travled through the area. There was an open gate that had a no tresspassing sign that said you would get the death penalty if you entered the area. What the heck, it looked like an attractive nuisence to me, so I cautiously accepted the invitation. Man, those things are huge. Check out my bike near the bottom of the tower for one of them. The wind was blowing so hard that it blew my bike over three times before I could get it balanced just right so I could take a picture of it.

Today, I missed seeing another aunt and uncle. If I could guarantee my schedule, I could call ahead, but that can be hard to do especially with the weather I have had to deal with. I rode to Portland this afternoon and stopped to take a picture of this guys yard. He has been collecting these cars since way before I first lived in Yakima, and he won't sell any of them. Some are just good for parts, but some are complete. On top of that there are a few that are very rare.
